Atlas America Visitor Insurance is designed relatives or parents visiting USA, and tourist coming to America for sightseeing, or Atlas International Insurance is for travelers outside America who are going abroad to most foreign destinations outside their home country.
- Eligibility: Visitors to USA or international travelers outside their home country (age more than 14 days).
- Policy Maximum: Plan offers maximum coverage choices from US$50,000 to US$2,000,000 for the life of the plan. For travelers ages 65 to 79 years, the maximum coverage is limited to $50,000 or $100,000, and for ages 80 years and older the max. is reduced to only $10,000.
- Plan Deductible: Choice of US$0, US$100, US$250, US$500, US$1000, US$2500 or US$5000 deductible per certificate/renewal period.
- Coinsurance Amount: For treatment received outside the PPO network, 20% coinsurance applies for the first $5000 in eligible expenses beyond the chosen plan deducible. For eligible U.S. claims incurred inside the PPO network, the coinsurance amount is waived and the plans pays 100% after the chosen plan deductible.
- Duration: Minimum certificate period of 5 days to maximum coverage/renewal period of 1 year (364 days).

Updated benefits/rates for Atlas Series plans effective April 15, 2021:
- New benefit: Quarantine benefit – $50 per day /max 10 days of coverage.
- Must have a minimum of 30 days of coverage. Proof of quarantine mandated by a physician or governmental authority required. Quarantine must be due to you testing positive for COVID-19/SARS-CoV2, or you are symptomatic and waiting on diagnostic test results.

Updated benefits/rates for Atlas Series plans effective July 15, 2020:
- Rate changes for Atlas Travel, Premium, Essential, and Group plans.
- Benefit changes to remove policy maximums of $250K, $500K, $1M, and $2M for ages 65-69 years, and the $150K policy maximum for ages 70-79 years.
- For all Atlas Series plans, for policies purchased on or after July 15th, COVID-19 will be treated as any other eligible illness. The epidemic/pandemic exclusion has been updated, including an exception for COVID-19, allowing for COVID-19 to be covered as any other eligible illness.
- NOTE: For policies purchased after March 27, 2020 and before July 15, 2020, plan offers NO coverage for testing/treatment of coronavirus (U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have issued a level 3 travel warning to avoid nonessential travel).

Updated benefits for Atlas Series plans effective July 10, 2018:
- Acute Onset of Pre-Existing Condition benefit is being extended to ages 70-79, with a $100,000 maximum limit.

Changes and enhancements from August 1, 2012 for Atlas Travel Insurance:
- Acute onset of pre-existing medical condition coverage has been increased from US$20,000 to US$50,000.
- Non-U.S. citizens/residents whose travel excludes the U.S. can purchase up to a 365 day certificate period. All other members are limited to a 364 day certificate period maximum.
- ER treatment for illness – A $200 co-pay will apply (in addition to the deductible) if not admitted to the hospital as an impatient. Only applicable to claims incurred inside the U.S.
- Urgent Care Facility Benefit – Deductible is waved and replaced with a $50 co-pay when claim is incurred at an Urgent Care Facility. Only applicable to claims incurred inside the U.S.
- Cardiovascular Events limited to $50,000 for ages 55-79 with specified contributing conditions. All others limited to overall policy maximum unless pre-ex or acute onset.
- Increased benefit for Return of Minor Children with maximum increased to $50,000 .
- Added Local Burial or Cremation Benefit with $5,000 lifetime limit.
- Non-U.S. Citizens permitted a maximum of 30 days per 3 month period incidental home country coverage for Atlas Travel and Atlas Group members.
- Acute onset of dental pain coverage has been increased to a maximum of $250 per certificate period.
- Coverage for adventure sports (previously only available under the Sports Rider) are now included in all Atlas Travel policies at no additional cost.
- Plan Features: The minimum period of coverage that can be purchased under Atlas America Insurance is 15 days and the maximum is 12 months. Atlas America coverage can start as early as next day. You do not need medical records or a physical exam to sign up. Optional Hazardous Activity Coverage is available – Medical Expense coverage for activities normally excluded from coverage such as motorcycling, scuba diving, skiing and whitewater rafting.

Atlas America Cancellation & Refund Rules
Below are the rules pertaining to cancellation of the policy and refund of premium. A a written request (email is fine) is required.
- Prior to Effective Date: If written email request is received by the plan administrator prior to the effective date of coverage, the paid premium is refunded minus a $25 cancellation fee.
- Active Policy: After the effective date of coverage, and if there are outstanding claims, the premium is considered to be fully earned and hence it is non-refundable. Also, after the start date, if the policy has not been used and there are no claims outstanding, un-used days refunds are considered for a partial refund, and a $25 cancellation fee also applies.

What are the difference between Atlas America plan choices offered?
Medical maximum benefit is different for plan choices selected
Medical maximum benefit is the only differrence for the differnt plan choices: A, B, C, D & E. The different plan choices allow you to choose which Medical maximum benefit limit you would like, higher the maximimum, higher the premium cost. All of the plan choices have the same standard benefits with the Emergency Medical Evacuation, Repatriation, Emergency Reunion, Trip Interruption, etc. The medical maximum limit is amount of coverage the plan offers for the different plan choices, which starts at $50,000 USD to $1 Million. This amount is the maximum medical coverage that is offered and any amounts for bills that exceed this is not covered.
What is the beneficiary and who should I name as the beneficiary?

The Atlas America plan offers Accident Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) benefit paid out in the even of loss of life or loss of limb (arm or leg) that will be paid to beneficiary named to receive this benefit. What are the common terms used in the Atlas America plan?
Medical Maximum, Deductible, Coinsurance are commonly referenced
Medical Maximum is the maximum amount covered under the policy, the plan will pay up to that amount should you need to use the plan by see medical care with the doctor, urgent care, or hospital, etc. Deductible is the amount of medical expenses which the insured person has to meet and cross (accumulated amount) before the plan pays. Higher the deductible selected, lower is the premium cost for the same medical maximum coverage selected. Coinsurance is the percentage amount of covered expenses, after the deductible, which the insured person pays, and applies only for the first $5000 beyond the deductible. Usual, Reasonable & Customary (URC) is for amounts that is actually payed out in the even of a sickness or injury claim. This is based on the local costs for treatment of that same type of claim.
